UNTIL HE BRINGS ME HOME

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:24-26

you cannot fight on all the fronts

I am not indispensable to the ministries of AACF

to the salvation and sanctification of the people there

I am not essential to the work done at EFCLA

to text-unpacking, saints-equipping, people-loving, gospel-preaching done there

I am not required for the bringing of the gospel to all the elect at UCLA in my time.

People will be edified without meeting up with me, even more so

theology will be taught without my vetting, even more correctly

care packages will be delivered by others besides me, even more encouragingly

for the task to win a kingdom is not mine

nor is the power to carry it out

these are Christ’s

and it is alright.

Because I am thankful that he has saved me and he is enough

so I fight my own sin

and I read the word

and I love who’s there

and I teach what I know

and I serve as I can

and I pray for grace

and I long for the day

when all credit will be given where it is due

and I can join in, not one self-exalting fiber in me, with the throngs giving glory to the only one who has claim to it

the one who can fight on all the fronts, at Calvary

and overcome.
