UNTIL HE BRINGS ME HOME

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:24-26

regarding the physical disciplining of children

i.e. things made of bamboo, hangers, belts, etc.

As we were discussing, 90%-jokingly, how physical discipline—unfortunately—usually contributes to a kid’s fear of the parent and not the kid’s fear of God:

“What’s tough is making it so that it’s not just behavior modification. You don’t want them to just change how they do things because they’re scared. You have to get to the heart of the issue, but when they’re children that’s really hard.” -William Kwok (paraphrased from memory)

Amen!

…not that I would really know. Yet.

QOD: Is it biblical to/would you physically discipline your children?
