UNTIL HE BRINGS ME HOME

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:24-26

it’s not about the storms

For some reason, it seems that

as far as we’re concerned, the reality of God’s sovereignty, the necessity for good stewardship, the weakness of our condition, and our ability to surrender all

seem to reach their apex during finals week

and, barring extenuating circumstances (cf. Job), rarely otherwise.

Oh, that we would constantly be fighting.

That we would understand sanctification to be contingent, not upon the schedules drawn up by our professors, or the severity of the storms that beset our houses, or on anything else

but upon the constant, constant, constant grace of God. That even storms are things of his grace.

Build your houses on solid rock (cf. Matthew 7:24-28).
